We've spent the past 5 days or so in a pretty little small town called "Salento." It attracts a lot of tourists for it's coffee farms and outdoors activities. Despite it's draw, it remains laid back during the week. Our highlight from Salento was hiking in the Valle de Cocora, a beautiful national park. Beautiful green mountains, and an environmental anomalie called the Wax Palm, gigantic palm trees that line the valley. One minute, you think you're in Switzerland, the next you're walking beneath palms.
We also hit a significant milestone while in Salento, we have been gone officially more than six months. At this point, we thought it would be fun to revise our list of "Tops" from after our first month. Enjoy!

What more can be said then beautiful, beautiful, and more beautiful. Need to think about writing a book and include lots of those incredible pictures. The coffee - ahhh not to mention the banana - nothing better than a fresh one. You guys take care and have fun. Think of you bunches, pray for you every day, love you lots, mom (j)
Just enjoying a morning cup of coffee (from Colombia - I don't know???) and catching up on all the photos and the latest post... I really love the pictures from the Cali Zoo... And, I know Kendra has plans for grad school but clearly has an eye for photography... some really amazing shots... like the black/white cow in front of the bright multi-colored house.. and the upside down flamingo??? plus the butterfly shots and of course Rich's photo with the monkey that proves Darwins theory of evolution beyond the shadow of a doubt...
Anyway, all is well here... Summer is behind us and we're enjoying cool fall days...
Love You guys!!! DAD
How do they put liquids in a bag?!
Ok, so of the top three things you miss...You don't miss suburbia? Traffic? Malls? Houses that all look the same?
